Intro: How we can face the storms of life. Paul is on his way to Rome - Romans 1:11. When a person is very close to conversion they don’t see themselves to be in any danger of eternal wrath - Mark 12:34.
I. The reasons for a shipwreck.
A. Some storms and shipwrecks are self-imposed.
B. Some storms are sovereignly allowed.
II. The results of a shipwreck.
A. When you shipwreck you’ll be led by your circumstances - Acts 27:14-15.
B. When you shipwreck life becomes hard and difficult - Acts 27:16-19.
C. When you shipwreck you can loose all hope - Acts 27:20.
III. The timeless lesson of how to ride out a shipwreck.
A. To ride (out) a shipwreck you need the anchor of God’s promise - Acts 27:21-25.
B. To ride (out) a shipwreck you need the anchor of practical encouragement - Acts 27:33-36.
C. To ride (out) a shipwreck you need the anchor of God’s providence - Acts 27:37-44.
Personal:
1. Never waste time when you wait on God.
2. Its a bad thing to be without hope - Matthew 11:28-30.
3. In the end there will be two classes of people - the saved and the unsaved.
