Intro: Acts 1-7 the Church started, Acts 8-12 the Church scattered, Acts 13-28 the Church spread. Paul warns the elders (leaders) of the Church.
I. The dangers around us. Acts 20:28.
A. The value of the sheep. Acts 20:17. Paul meets with the elders (a group of Godly men also called overseers and deacons Phil 1:1, Titus 1:5,7 and 1 Peter 5:1-2) to exercise stewardship of the Church.
B. The wolves against the sheep. Acts 20:29. Matthew 7:15-16, 17-20 and Matthew 12:33-37 false teachers/prophets also Jeremiah 23:17.
II. The dangers among us. Acts 20:30. Hebrews 13:17 Obey your leaders and submit to their authority.
A. Be vigilant in your watch. Acts 20:30 and Jude 1:3-4.
B. Be dependent on His means. Acts 20:31-32.
III. The dangers within us.
A. The sin of covetousness. Acts 20:33-34.
B. The sin of selfishness. Acts 20:34-35 ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ 2 Corinthians 9:6 and Matthew 25:40.
