Intro: Is your life well lived? We see Paul as a Pastor for three years in Ephesus beginning at Antioch of Syria.
I. The character of his life.
A. He was an example of lowly service/servant. Acts 20:18-19 …serving the Lord with all humility …humility/humble: not proud or arrogant; modest.
B. He was an example of Godly sorrow. Acts 20:19 … and with tears … 2 Corinthians 2:4 and Romans 12:15.
C. He was an example of unwavering suffering. Acts 20:19 …and with trials…
II. The consistency of his walk.
A. He was a hard worker. Acts 20:18,31 and 2 Timothy 2:1-6. As a good soldier, an athlete and as a hard-working farmer.
B. He was fearless. Acts 20:20.
C. He was straight forward. Acts 20:21 … repent …
III. The conviction of His mission.
A. He was constrained by Spirit. Acts 20:22 (That is he was bound by the Holy Spirit to go to the city.)
B. He was constrained by his call. Acts 20:24 (That is he had a ’bulldog grip’ of the Gospel.)
C. He was constrained by man’s need. Acts 20:25-27 and Ezekiel 33:1-6.
Personal:
Jesus replied, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62.
